Sagan Flores

Healing the root. Restoring the whole.

Sagan Flores—meaning “a place of flowers”—is the CNMI’s first holistic health nonprofit, dedicated to healing mental health at the root by addressing the interconnected wellbeing of the mind, body, and spirit.

We blend culturally rooted practices with science, making whole-person healing accessible for the people of the Marianas.

Our programs are trauma-informed and culturally responsive, integrating modern research in psychology and epigenetics with indigenous and integrative healing modalities.

Since our launch, we’ve introduced Saipan Sound Healing—a practice new to the islands but used for thousands of years around the world to support emotional regulation and nervous system healing.

Since its introduction in September of last year, over 1,500 people have experienced their first sound healing session.

We’ve brought holistic wellness directly to the community—offering sessions and workshops for the Cancer Society, addiction recovery programs at CHCC, schools across Saipan (from elementary to high school), kids with autism and disabilities, educators and principals, and even the Judiciary branch, including judges and attorneys.

At Sagan Flores, we believe healing is not only individual—it’s collective.

We aim to create safe, inclusive spaces for people to reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with their cultural and ancestral roots.

Our Pillars of Healing & Education

As a mental health nonprofit, our mission goes beyond symptom management — we focus on healing the root.

We believe that anxiety, depression, burnout, and disconnection are not personal flaws, but signals that something deeper needs care.

Our work integrates the mind, body, and soul to help individuals and communities heal at the root level — through accessible education, embodiment, and culturally rooted practices.

We are dedicated to making mental health and holistic healing accessible to all, especially in places where support and understanding have been limited.

Each pillar represents a pathway to holistic mental wellness and includes educational programs that teach not just how to cope, but how to transform.

Please click the downward arrow on the right side to read about each pillar:

  • We believe mental wellness begins with understanding.

Through evidence-based education, we help individuals develop awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience — making psychological tools simple, relatable, and accessible to our island community.

    Educational focus includes:

    • Workshops on emotional regulation, trauma awareness, and stress management

    • Science-backed tools rooted in psychology and mindfulness (e.g., CBT, somatic awareness, positive psychology, psychodynamics, hypnotherapy)

    • Culturally sensitive education that normalizes mental health conversations in our community

  • The body remembers what the mind forgets.

We teach individuals to reconnect with their physical selves — recognizing that mental health is deeply tied to how we inhabit our bodies.

    Educational focus includes:

    • Teaching the mind-body connection through somatic practices and nervous system education

    • Body literacy: understanding how the body communicates emotion, tension, and trauma

    • Health education through movement, breathwork, and plant-based nutrition rooted in island living

  • Healing the soul means remembering who we are and where we come from.

This pillar restores the sense of belonging, validation, and connection that our ancestors understood as vital to health.

    Educational focus includes:

    • Reviving ancient Chamorro healing and cultural practices through storytelling, ceremony, and community gatherings

    • Teaching the power of community as medicine — creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported

Reconnecting with land, ocean, and ancestry as sources of healing and identity

Together: Integrative Education for Wholeness

Each pillar is interconnected — when one heals, the others follow.

Through our programs, we teach individuals and communities not only how to heal, but why healing matters.

By uniting science, somatics, and spirituality, we are creating a movement of accessible, root-level healing — where wholeness is remembered, not earned.
